We are currently seeking a dynamic and talented Application Scientist to join our team and contribute to our quantum computing solutions.
Position Overview
As an Application Scientist at QuantrolOx, you will play a pivotal role in engaging with our customers for consulting and support. This customer-facing position will also require you to offer valuable feedback to our product development team, set up experiments in our state-of-the-art development lab, and assist customers with software installation in their own labs.
Key Responsibilities
- Cultivate strong relationships with customers, understanding their unique needs, challenges and requirements.
- Provide technical support, troubleshoot issues, and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Gather feedback from customers about their experiences with our automation software.
- Collaborate closely with the product development team to convey customer feedback and contribute to product enhancement.
- Design, set up, and conduct experiments in our cutting-edge development lab to validate and refine our quantum computing automation solutions.
- Thoroughly document experimental procedures and results for internal reference and customer support.
- Assist customers in the installation and configuration of our quantum computing automation software and within their lab environments.
- Deliver comprehensive training and support to customers to ensure effective utilization of our automation solutions.
Qualifications
- A Ph.D. in physics, preferable with postdoc experience with superconducting qubits, or related areas.
- Demonstrated expertise in experimental setup and execution within the realm of quantum computing or closely related fields.
- Proficiency in programming and familiarity with quantum computing software frameworks.
- Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, to facilitate customer interactions and convey feedback effectively.
- A collaborative mindset and the ability to thrive in a cross-functional team environment.
- Previous experience in a customer-facing role or providing technical support is advantageous.

Academy Content Creator (Consultant)
Location: Flexible
We are looking for Content Creators to help develop high-quality educational material for Quantum EDGE Academy (QEA). QEA is QuantrolOx’s new training platform focused on the practical aspects of quantum computing, with courses covering concepts such as cryogenic systems, RF measurement chains, device characterisation, and qubit control.
This is a flexible consulting role, suited to individuals with a strong physics background and the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and effectively. While experience in education (e.g. teaching or course development) is desirable, it is not essential if you can demonstrate strong communication skills and a clear, structured approach to explaining technical concepts.
We are open to two engagement models:
- Hourly consulting, or
- Deliverable-based work (e.g. completion of a course or module to an agreed timeline).
Key Responsibilities:
You will play a key role in shaping the Academy’s content and learner experience.
Responsibilities include:
- Develop text-based course content on practical quantum computing topics.
- Design and structure courses, ensuring a coherent learning progression.
- Create figures and visual aids to support understanding.
- Work within our LMS (Moodle) to upload, format, and curate content.
- Translate complex experimental concepts into clear, structured, and engaging explanations.
- Collaborate with the product manager and engineering team to develop simulated practical exercises.
Your Background and Skills
Essential
- Degree in physics or a closely related field.
- Strong written communication skills.
- Ability to explain complex technical concepts in a clear, intuitive, and structured way.
Desirable
- Experience working in a quantum or low-temperature laboratory environment.
- Familiarity with cryogenics, RF/microwave engineering, or measurement systems.
- Knowledge of superconducting or spin-based quantum computing platforms.
- Teaching, tutoring, or science communication experience.
- Basic programming experience (e.g. Python).
- Experience using Illustrator to create scientific figures.
- Experience using Latex to format equations.

Position Overview
The Head of Solutions Engineering and Technical Sales will bridge the gap between complex quantum physics and commercial success. This role is responsible for leading the technical sales strategy, managing the “technical validation and win” during the sales cycle, and ensuring customer, ranging from research labs to hyperscalers, can effectively integrate our automation platforms into their workflows. You will be a key driver in scaling our product lines in strategic markets, accounts and partners: Quantum EDGE, VIDYAQAR (integrated systems), and the Quantum EDGE Academy.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Sales Leadership: Drive the technical sales process for QuantrolOx software platforms and integrated systems, ensuring alignment between customer requirements and QuantrolOx capabilities. Support sales in identifying and technical vetting of new market opportunities across Universities, National Labs, and Industry segments.
- Product Feedback Loop: Collaborate closely with Product Management and Engineering to translate customer technical feedback into the product roadmap.
- Training & Enablement: Lead the field enablement and technical delivery of QuantrolOx products, co-delivering training and certification programs with authorized partners.
- Commercial Tech Platform Roadmap: Work closely with strategic technology partners like QPU, control electronics and cryo vendors, Google Cloud Platform and Nvidia to develop reference architectures enabling faster time to market and joint ecosystem enablement at scale.
Qualifications
- Educational Background: Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Engineering, or a related field; a Master’s or PhD in Quantum Physics is highly preferred.
- Experience: 8+ years of experience in technical sales or solutions engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership role within B2B software and cloud platforms.
- Domain Expertise: Proven track record in complex solution selling, ideally involving High-Performance Computing (HPC), technical infrastructure, or cloud-based business models.
- Quantum Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of the quantum computing ecosystem, including different modalities (e.g., superconducting qubits) and the customer landscape.
- Communication and thought leadership: Exceptional ability to present complex technical concepts to both PhD-level experts and C-suite executives. Ability to programmatically enable customer and partner skills at scale.
- Operational Skills: Proficiency in CRM software and sales analytics tools to track performance and solution pipeline. Management experience in leading through customer and partner engagements seeking continuous progress in customer engagements.
